Classical Christian School Gets New Funding for Growth
Hillcrest Foundation Gives Grant Toward New School Campus
The Cambridge School of Dallas is celebrating growth and progress in its new facility, located at 3877 Walnut Hill. The Hillcrest Foundation has granted $50,000 for capital improvements including security, technology, communications, and other refurbishments at its campus, where the school has been housed since the beginning of the year.
“This generous grant allows us to leverage our new facility to reach more students who want a Christian classical college preparatory education through the buildout of additional classroom space and the addition of technology and programming capabilities that will greatly enhance our learning environment,” said P. Stan Keith, Chairman of the School Board of Trustees. “The new facility allows us space to grow – creating flexibility, room for expansion and added athletic facilities.”
In addition to basic technology upgrades, specific uses for the grant money also include: demolition, restructuring and upgrades of the floor plan including classrooms, work areas and offices; library and classroom shelving and furniture; and security and intercom systems.
These funds, fused with additional grants and parental donations, will also provide more computers and technology-related equipment for students and faculty.
Based in Dallas, the Hillcrest Foundation is dedicated to supporting organizations that advance education, promote health and strive to eradicate poverty in Texas. The foundation was established in 1957 by Mrs. W.W. Caruth, Sr., a member of a pioneer family that settled in the Dallas area in 1848. Successive generations of the Caruth family bought land, owned and managed ranches and farms, and later developed properties around Dallas.
Since 2002, the Cambridge School of Dallas (grades 5-12)has offered a Christ-centered, college preparatory, classical education to families in the Metroplex area. Its educational philosophy is committed to “Academic Discipleship: Fostering a Love of Learning with a Passion for Jesus Christ,” and seeks to enroll students with average to above-average academic ability (according to commonly used test scores), and train them to perform at above average academic levels with outstanding leadership levels.
