I know that those of you who are juniors and seniors are beginning the college search process, and I hope that the things I said a few weeks ago can give you some guidance and encouragement. This is a huge step that you are about to take, and I would encourage each of you to view this as not only a “college search process”, but also a path of self-discovery.
The college that you choose will play a major role in the next stage of your life. I chose the University of Georgia, and was a double major in Spanish and Advertising. I am now and Escrow Officer at Benchmark Title – which has nothing to do with my studies. To learn WHO you are in college is just as important (if not more important) as WHAT you learn. The most important thing I realized was to maintain my identity in Christ. This may seem obvious to you now, but you will face so many challenges and bumps in the road that your walk with the Lord will not always be easy. Stick with what you know to be true, learn what you can about who you are and what you want to become, and trust in the Lord. The rest is easy!
