Senior Tutorial

The senior tutorial is the capstone of the curriculum at The Cambridge School of Dallas. Its purpose is to provide students with an occasion to study a topic in depth, to write a rigorous academic paper on that topic, and to present and defend the thesis of that paper publicly before an academic committee. Each senior works under the direction of a Cambridge professor who has a particular interest or expertise in the general subject matter. During the semi-final stage, all seniors present a brief summary of their papers before fellow students, guests, and a panel of Cambridge professors. The top three tutorials are chosen to move on to the Tutorial Finals, where they present a summary of their papers before fellow students, guests, and a panel of outside judges and entertain questions from the judges and, if time permits, the audience. The program culminates in the Trivium Award for the top tutorial.
