Hear From a Student

Kate Padgitt entered Cambridge School of Dallas as a freshman for the 2007-2008 school year.

Q: What were you looking for in a high school?
I wanted to go to a school that was based on Christian beliefs.  I also wanted a learning environment that was active; where teachers involved students in learning.
Q: What do you like best about Cambridge?
The best thing about Cambridge is the feeling of community. Everyone is involved: students, faculty, families, staff.  Even across grades, everyone knows everyone.  When we feel connected, it is a comfortable environment.
Q: Did you have any reservations about Cambridge?
Because it is a smaller school, I didn’t know if it would provide the high school experience I was looking for.  Actually, it is exactly what I wanted. It is easier to learn in smaller classes.  Although I knew some kids who also transferred from my other school, it was easy to meet everyone; I’ve made many deep friendships.  Also, it is easy to get involved in activities.
Q: In what activities have you participated?
In the fall, I was on the crew team and was in the drama production.  In the spring, I hope to be in drama and crew again, or maybe golf.
Q: What surprised you most about Cambridge?
I didn’t expect the teachers to be so passionate.  They really love their subjects and they love to teach.  This makes us [the students] excited about learning.  They are also very helpful and available to answer questions.
Q: What would you recommend to someone considering Cambridge?
I think everyone should definitely come and visit for a day.  It is hard to describe how it feels to be a part of Cambridge.  You just have to experience it.
