Cambridge in D.C.

Every other year, seventh and eighth graders visit Washington, DC to gain a better understanding of our country, its founding and its greatness. The trip begins in Williamsburg, Virginia, to help students visualize the places and events that led to the American Revolution. After a brief visit to Monticello, home of Thomas Jefferson, four days are spent in the DC area. Trip highlights include visits to the Capitol, Arlington Cemetery, the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorial, the World War II, Vietnam, and Korean War Memorials, various museums in the Smithsonian complex, the National Archives, the National Cathedral, Mount Vernon, and The White House. The Washington DC trip also helps to bond the classes and form relationships that are an essential part of Cambridge life.
