Christian Formation

Equipping students to know, love, and serve Christ.

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

- Romans 12:2

Discipleship of Mind & Heart

Wednesday Chapels provide a time for us to reflect upon our common faith, but at Cambridge, Christ truly is integrated into all we do. From a calculus class to a track meet, the practice of our Christian faith is evident in all we do and teach.

Each year, our chapels explore a theme through the reflections of faculty, staff, students, and alumni. We are committed to the heart of the Christian message and keep ourselves rooted in the first things of the gospel: the person and work of Jesus Christ, the authority of the Scriptures received in the Holy Spirit, and the faithful witness of the church in the foundational creeds and councils. We do not emphasize denominational differences, but take an ecumenical stand with believers through the millennia and throughout the world in our orthodox confessions and commitments. We embrace historic biblical orthodoxy—creation, fall, and redemption. Our goal is to affirm together the shared convictions that have drawn us as a Cambridge community from various Christian traditions and denominations to the person of Jesus Christ.

Cambridge is committed to teaching from the perspective of a Christian worldview. Truth, goodness, and beauty are objective and rooted in reality. Human dignity is derived from being made in the image of a holy and loving Creator. We believe that because Christ is Lord over the whole of life, the call of the gospel goes out not only to every man and woman, but to the core of their beliefs and behaviors.

Education, whether Christian or secular, is never merely informational, it is also transformational. Our goal as a school, then, is to equip students to know Christ with all their minds, to love Him with all their hearts, and to serve Him with all their lives.

Doctrinal Statement

The Cambridge School of Dallas Doctrinal Statement is the confessional foundation on which all we do and teach is based. In common with the early church Fathers and the Reformers, it states the essence of Christianity. In addition, there are other positions that the school leadership affirms as inherent in classical Christian teaching. These positions primarily address moral issues and the school leadership’s stance on what is inherent to classical Christian teaching. For example, from its beginning the School affirmed a pro-life position on abortion to be consistent with orthodox Christian faith and thus uncontroversial within our community. We invite you to learn more about them by reading our Doctrinal Statement and Corollary Affirmations.
